2010 Community Policing Awareness Program Billboard
( Keeping Our Communities Safe )
2010 Community Policing Project Unveiled
Lake County Crime Stoppers, Lake County Metropolitan Enforcement Group (LCMEG), and Clear Channel have partnered once again to create a new billboard with a triple focus this year. This is the seventh in a series of Billboards to promote public awareness. The Billboard is located on the Northeast Corner of Washington and West Streets, Waukegan, Illinois. This location is highly desirable due to it’s proximity to the county buildings and courthouse. This theme ties in with our other Community Policing and Crime Prevention Awareness programs put together throughout the year that are presented by Law Enforcement Agencies of Lake County.
The Billboard message shows three of the most prevalent crimes facing our communities. Namely; the tactics used by Drug Dealers, and Gangs with Guns. The billboard depicts a youth with an illegal gun, involved in drugs.
On our streets today, approximately Six of Ten children are solicited for Illegal Drugs, in and around the surrounding areas of the Billboard.
This is a call out to Parents, Educators and Concerned Citizens whereas to, BE AWARE, PROTECT OUR CHILDREN, GET INVOLVED, REMAIN ANONYMOUS.
If you have information regarding this type of crime or any other felony crime or felony fugitive, contact the Lake County Crime Stoppers at 847-662-2222. Cash rewards up to $1,000.00 are paid for information that lead to an arrest, and remember, we want your information, not your name.
Crime Doesn’t Pay, But Crime Stoppers Does.
This program is a collaboration of Lake County Crime Stoppers, Lake County Metropolitan Enforcement Group (LCMEG) and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
Roycealee J. Wood, Regional Superintendent of Lake County Schools assists in the distribution of various Gun Stopper Posters and other information to the Schools after she reviews the information for its merit and noteworthiness for the schools of Lake County, Illinois. Our thanks go out to everyone involved in this ongoing Community Policing and Crime Prevention Awareness project.
